As part of a two-year planned upgrde of EAC's network and infrastructure, Adaptive was called upon to consult, supply and implement a new hardware server, upgrade the existing web-server and firewall systems. Adaptive executed the work over a two week period which also included several other hardware and software maintenance tasks. The projections for virtualization and hardware specifications were executed professionally and helped put in the pillars in place for future growth at Emmanuel.
On a more technical note, I called upon Phil Elmers advice one evening after a nasty virus had spread throughout the network. The school relied on mapped network drives for data access, and this worm had created an 'autorun.exe' bat script that quickly filled all domain controllers with viruses as well as around 180 workstations. Five years personal experience dealing with home users desktops filled to the eyebrows with malicious software, I had thought I’d seen it all. To this day, I have personally never seen an infection as bad as the one we suffered at Emmanuel. With consultation from Phil, two other ACS technicians and Sophos Anti-Virus, we managed to completely recover both servers as well as clean the infection with zero data loss and with zero down-time.
